I could see an entire additional book all about Plum's adventures after the end of The Magician's Land. She's a fantastic character, perhaps less flawed than the others, but with a fierceness that will get her into all kinds of adventures. Any thoughts on a "spin-off" to the trilogy focused on her?

Lev Grossman I won't say it hasn't occurred to me. Plum's different from most of the other point-of-view characters in the series. She doesn't have a serious mood disorder. She's engaged with the world. She has a can-do attitude. I like writing her. But I have to deal w/ a couple of other projects first.

Have you ever read the Hyperion series by Dan Simmons? Incredible world-building in these four books, and although not magical, it is fantastical since it takes place thousands of years in the future. I would love to know what you think. Reading your two books (have the third one now) felt like coming home to me.
