Lois Lowry It is all true, though it uses fictional characters to tell the true story. I did a great deal of research, in libraries in the US, and then going to Denmark and talking to people who had participated in the rescue

They always want to know more about Anne Marie's story-why did she help her neighbors and risk her own life, and more importantly, what happened to both families during and after the war? Ever think about writing a sequel?
