I'm conflicted about starting the Harry Potter series as my friend said that it was entirely over-rated and she wouldn't recommend me reading it. But I don't know whether I should really believe her (well follow her recommendation), since it's such an appreciated and loved series by people world wide... ?

Lot of people say the books have too many pages and useless passages, but when you finish HP 7 you realize why it all had to be there. J. K. Rowling is a genius.
