(I went to Mars school. It's awesome we lasted to be in the GFL) And why didn't you go with red as the official color? It was always funny that the school didn't use red more often.

Not a coincidence at all! When I was setting up the teams, I knew we would do jerseys, T-shirts and other merchandise for the main teams (the Ionath Krakens and the OS1 Orbiting Death). Understanding that we couldn't do merch for all the teams (because of both the required investment and not enough demand for 22 teams), I looked around for existing teams that seemed to fit the GLF gestalt, so enterprising fans could find merch for those teams. The Mars Planets is real, as you know, and so are the Neptune Scarlet Fliers (a high school in New Jersey). I didn't use red because Mars already has school colors!
