That's a good question. It is confusing. The best I can say is that Maverick says he first saw Lisa when she was playing basketball in high school. Yet, from my understanding, Maverick had to be older than Lisa so he obviously wasn't a student when he saw her playing. Somewhere in the book, it is mentioned Maverick is 36. So if Starr is 16 he would have been about 20 when she was born. It is mentioned that Lisa was still in high school when she gave birth to Starr...I think she was 17.

Is it possible they were high school sweethearts? I can’t remember if the book said when exactly they (Lisa an Maverick) started dating.
