Oh, this is such a difficult question. I was asked something similar the other day and I managed to evade specifics by saying it would depend whether I wanted to witness an event or a person.
If it's a person, then I think Elizabeth I, or a young Henry VIII - who wouldn't want to see him in his prime? Henry V - to see how he managed to inspire his sick and starving army across France. Pericles, perhaps, Leonidas, or Alexander the Great.
If it's an event then perhaps building the pyramids, the crossing at the Gates of Grief, or possibly see Julius Caesar welcoming Cleopatra to Rome.
