Hello, Amor. I had the pleasure of sitting at your table in Septembr in LA/Brentwood for a luncheon/discussion/signing of A Gentleman in Moscow. You may remember my telling you my GR Group was reading it in November and we shipped off a copy to a member in the UK! We read it and loved it! What made you decide on the title vs. Songs of St. Petersburg? Thank you, Amor.

Dear Sir, I'm afraid some of the realities you describe in your book Gentleman in Moscow didn't exist. There were no officers ranks in the Red Army in 1918, also NKVD didn't exist at this time. There were CheKa (Extraordinary Commission) and GPU (Chief Political Directorate) later on. Vyshinski in 1918 was a nobody. And I doubt that CheKa members would adress anyone as a "count". Would you care to comment?

Mr. Towles - We loved The Lincoln Highway but were shocked and disappointed to see you casually traffic in grossly antisemitic tropes. The statements (p.214) of Jews that "could hardly be trusted to give him a fair price" and needing to ensure that Billy "wasn't taken advantage of" by Jews (p.215) were entirely gratuitous and beneath a man of your intellect and sophistication. Why would you use such language?
