Hi Elle! i'm so obsed with the off-campus series. i wanted to ask you which is your writting process, i read that with this type of books you start with an idea and the write the story, but do you do like at first how the characters will be, their way of being, their aspect, their family etc, maybe so you dont forget it? also was curios about if characters have been inspired by soemone? if so, who inspired dean?

Elle Kennedy Thanks so much for asking such great questions! My writing process is pretty simple – I usually start by plotting out the basic premise and key events, and from there it’s just filling in the blanks. That’s where friends or funny stories really get developed. Where the characters come from is actually a mix of things – mostly imagination, but also a little real life inspiration. No character is wholly based on anyone I know, but bits and pieces might come from something a friend has said or done, or a story they told about someone they know. Sadly, I don’t have a real life Dean kicking around.
