I've read The Giver 18 times and I love it more each time I enter into their world. Did you write any intentional Christian symbols in The Giver? I am a Christian, so I see them likely because it is my personal perspective. But I'd like to know if any were included intentionally. Thank you for reading and I hope to hear a response!!

Lois Lowry I think the book speaks to many different faiths. It is not exclusively Christian. Many Jewish people give it as a Bar Mitzvah gift. I would hate to limit it to one exclusive set of beliefs. It should speak to and for humanity in general.
