Queroix asked Lois Lowry:

Hello Lois Lowry! I'm Kristina - book blogger & your fan from Russia. I read "The Giver" and I really loved it. Actually your book helped me with my exam. So thank you:) I would love to know why children in "The Giver" don't have parents? And also I wanted to know if you think that "The Giver" is alike "WE" - a novel by Evgeniy Zamyatin? Thank you for your talent and for answering my questions:)

Lois Lowry They don't have biological parents, just the organized assigned families, because the concept of family affection and connection has disappeared so it is no longer important.

I'm sorry that I don't know the novel WE.
