Daniel E. Olesen I'm sorry for the belated answer; I don't think GR ever notified me I had been asked a question. In any case, I would probably have to say I owe the greatest debt to Tolkien. Even if I have done my best to minimise any signs of obvious influence, there still remains the fact that he was the one to show me world-building was even possible on such a scale.
