Carly Rodgers
Carly Rodgers asked Lois Lowry:

How do you feel about the movie being so different from the book in so many aspects? (Especially the age difference.) The fact that they were twelve was so intriguing to me in your book because of how young and vulnerable they were. I was a little disappointed that they changed so much of your original story that made it so defining.

Lois Lowry I think that because the society n which they lived was so repressive and rigid, the teenagers were unsophisticated and childlike...almost as if they were twelve
