Jennifer A. Nielsen:
Hello Ms Nielsen, Ive just finished listening to the Ascendence Trilogy & A Night Divided audio books, and I absolutely loved them, they were such brilliant books! Do you have any book recommendations, or are there any books that you come back to again and again? Also, do you have any tips for writing inside the fantasy genre? Thanks so much!
Jennifer A. Nielsen
Hi Ava!
Thanks for asking! If you want to try others of my books, you might consider Mark of the Thief or The Traitor's Game (coming Feb `17).
If you're wondering about other authors' books, I've loved ZEROES by Scott Westerfeld, ONE FOR THE MURPHYS by Lynda Mullaly Hunt, BETWEEN SHADES OF GRAY by Rita Sepetys, MYSTERIES OF COVE by J Scott Savage, and the KEEPER OF LOST CITIES series by Shannon Messenger, among many others.
Tips for writing in the fantasy genre? For starters, read in the fantasy genre, a lot. And then always ask yourself how you can make your story or characters different than what you've read before, what you can do to add to the fantasy mythology while still remaining loyal to it.

Okay, so this is kinda weird because I don't have a question but it requires me to put a question mark so here: ?. I just wanted to say that I've read so many books in my life, and out of all of them the Ascendance series is my most favorite series of all time. I love the character Jaron and all of your crazy plot twists, ecspecially in the first book. I just want to say you are an amazing author!!!! :)

Hi Ms. Neilson! Your Ascendance Trilogy (well now a series, lol) is one of my favorites and I re-read it quite often, I was super excited when I found out that you had published a new one so recently! I hope this doesn't sound rude, but I was wondering if it it fit the agenda for you to put some LGBTQ+ rep in the future of the series? Maybe just a wlw or mlm couple somewhere, trans/nonbinary rep is above and beyond
