Max
Max asked Lois Lowry:

Did you always want to write a sequel to The Giver, or did you originally intend to have The Giver as a stand-alone book?

Lois Lowry I didn't contemplate sequels...I prefer calling them companion books...until much later.

Jenn
Jenn asked Lois Lowry:

With the recent technological advances oh the last two decades, do you find yourself inspired to write any new futuristic plots? I have been waiting for one of the world's great modern classic writers to take hold of a unique perspective regarding artificial intelligence and the state of our future. I thank you very much for your time and all your wonderful literary contributions.

Loren Threet
Loren Threet asked Lois Lowry:

Immense fan here, since '96. What helped you decide to finally write subsequent stories to The Giver? Was Son the end game or did each story present itself separately to you? Also, thank you for Son. It was stunning.

salehah
salehah asked Lois Lowry:

Do you have any favourite books? Which one was the last you cried (or reared up) to?
