KLOVE Christian radio is now announcing the movie and encouraging families to see it but from the trailers I have seen, it has a strong secular message. The question I have, is did you intentionally attempt to have a Christian message and if so is the movie pushing a more secular message?

Lois Lowry I think the message of loving, caring human relationships...and the importance of them...can be applied to most religions and as well to a secular world. I'm pleased that Christian Radio is promoting the film. But its audience is certainly not limited to those of the Christian faith.

In The Giver, you created this entire utopian society, but in each sequel you address a vastly different setting. Do you feel that these other settings flow with The Giver's story, or did you make them separate for a reason?
