Goodreads asked S.A. Chapman:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

S.A. Chapman DON'T DO IT! IT'S A TRAP!

If you don't heed these words and proceed otherwise, because you feel that beyond the trap lies something great - then you are a writer.

Therein lies my first piece of advice - don't always listen to the advice of others. Do what you want, follow your instincts - but always be ready to bear the consequence of your actions. Don't shove the less-fortunate out of the way in the pursuit of your own endeavours.

If you proceed to write for fame, glory or accolade - you may be a writer, but you are most likely doomed to failure.

If you proceed for the sake of creating something that may or may not provide entertainment or knowledge, then you will never fail.

Lastly - don't you dare get someone else to write you work, then take the credit (ghostwriting). If you do, you are a fake and a travesty to all that an author is and should be.
