Horror isn't my genre... However, I have put together a couple of sentences that would the stuff of nightmares for many writers using this site.
"I sat smugly on the bus, my fifteen-month work on my manuscript at an end, only for two spotty youths to grab my laptop, jump off the bus and run into the distance. All was not lost I told myself, but on arriving home found my beloved pooch Buster devouring the remnants of my USB key."
Scary, eh?

On your last blog post, you mention "improving as a writer". Striving for success whilst writing for 30 years will obviously lead to improvement, just by virtue of "practice makes perfect", but do you have any advice to other writers to help them improve their craft (other than heeding the advice of other, more experienced writers :) ), such as joining writers' groups? Thanks!
