Hello Melanie. I'm writing a novel right now with 'pirate/adventure/romance' theme, and I was wondering what you thought made a novel like this interesting. Do you have any ideas for me?

Melanie Dickerson Hi, Anna! Lots of emotion--dreams and ambitions and conflicts inside the main characters. Also lots of action and opposition from villains. Always pay lots of attention to the emotions. If you haven't read GMC, Goal Motivation and Conflict by Debra Dixon, you should read it. It's very helpful.
Also, always leave out the boring parts. ;-)
