Lois Lowry:
Does your book The Giver have ties of Christianity or religions in it? When I was reading the book, I kept thinking about the gift of choice. Just wondering if there are any religious or non-religious themes that were intended in The Giver?

It was not my intent but many people find those themes there. I would like to think that it contains connections to all faiths, not singling out any specific one
