I read many of your books to my classes over the years. I taught The Giver and my top 6th grade readers and they loved it. How do you feel about the movie? I have seen it and did like it. My mother, who is 90, saw the movie today and enjoyed it and thought it was very thought-provoking. Are you pleased with the result and will you allow more of your books to be made into movies?

Lois Lowry I like the adaptation very much. Whether I wold allow another book to be adapted would depend entirely on who would be doing it.

Hello Ms. Lowry! I would like to know if you meant for Gathering Blue to be set in any particular place? (I had a theory that Kira's village was located in after-the-Bad-Times London, mostly based on Matt's 'accent' and the use of the word 'tykes' for children.) Thank you!
