I read all four of your books from The Giver series and loved them all. However it was difficult to see the connection between the books after having read the first two of the series. Why did you choose to wait until Book 3 (The Messenger) to tie the books together?

After reading the Giver series and then seeing your most recent movie, I was wondering how you felt about the interpretation of the book. More specifically how you feel about the discrepancies between the book and the movie, for example the fact that in the movie Jonas did not have pale eyes? Will this affect the story lines in future book-to-movie adaptations? Thanks so much for a great series, Lois!

I was ecstatic when I looked and found that there were 3 more books following The Giver. The ending of used to nag at me because it was a toss up as to whether it was a happy ending or not, and to find that in fact Jonas and Gabe *did* make it was great. But I was wondering if you originally planned for it to be a series, or was it a response to the public begging for closure?

I've read The Giver 18 times and I love it more each time I enter into their world. Did you write any intentional Christian symbols in The Giver? I am a Christian, so I see them likely because it is my personal perspective. But I'd like to know if any were included intentionally. Thank you for reading and I hope to hear a response!!
