Will this still be a good read as an adult?

Peter Walsh I can confirm this.

I read all of these books when I was 12-15. A couple summers ago I was feeling super nostalgic and reread the entire series (age 21). I was very surprised at how well the dialogue, world building, plot (and its twists), and character development held up.

I HIGHLY recommend this series. It's unique and has quite a dark tone for a kid's series. And honestly....I like it better than lord of the rings.
Laith Nasir I've started reading it recently (I'm 18 years old) and yes it's a good read for adults. I especially like how the shadowlord returns (this isn't much of a spoiler by the way, this is from the first chapter/prologue). It isn't by some ancient apocalyptic cult or by a prophecy or something lame like that. He returns because the descendants of the first king who sealed him away became more and more careless about the people of the kingdom via internal corruption that by the time they realise it he's already conquered most of Deltora (I cant say more due to spoilers but suffice to say, it's a good read)
Tanner Bouchal Yes it is a very good read with a lot of twists and turns
