Where did you get the inspiration for the whole battle of faithes and religions concept and how did you think of such a terribly good charecter as velixar?

David Dalglish Velixar came about because I was tired of so many, many stories having religions that were so cartoonishly over-the-top and ridiculously evil that it was hard to believe anyone would fall for them. Velixar was meant to represent an evil religion, but in a logical, convincing way. He's much more like Darth Vader trying to woo Luke Skywalker to the dark side.
