Who are some of your favorite and inspiring mentors?

Rene Denfeld I was lucky to have had mentors when I was an aspiring writer. I was "discovered" by Katherine Dunn, who had read my poetry when I was a freshly off the streets as a poor kid. She remained my lifelong friend and mentor until she passed away May 2016. I miss her terribly. I try and return the favor by mentoring new writers.

Wow....you inspire me! I too found your two books not only difficult to read but also gave me hope, love, acceptance. To be able to find sanctuary in the libray to help you through your difficult stuggle....is amazing! At one time I got a hold of the title "Fire and Water: A Novel" written by you to b published in May 2023. I have had it in my TBR list for a long time now and when I went looking for the book I can no longer find it. Was it in a group anthology or was the title re-scripted as your current book Sleeping Giants? I will definitely get Sleeping Giants, but I don't want too miss the other story if it is available. Thanks
