Hey Jason, I finished WtHDIJR (what a mouthfull of an acronym) in a single sitting the day it came out. It was really good, keep the novels coming. I know the DVD for JDatE has been out awhile but have you ever considered doing an unofficial commentary track for the movie (e.g. Darren Aronofsky put one online for his movie The Fountain)? It would be neat to get a first-hand author's perspective scene-by-scene.

That sounds like a great idea, but it's one of those projects that sounds simple but would take days. Since I'd be doing it solo, I'd have to come in in advance with a series of points to make and I'd need to watch the movie a few times and take notes and have a sense of how long each bit takes. Otherwise you're going to get either long silences or me saying things that don't pertain to what's happening on screen. Then I'd need to edit the audio after to fix the parts where I screwed up and had to start over, etc. So it's one of those things that would be extremely cool but I'd be putting other work aside to do it, since I don't really have days off.

Hi David! While I was discussing JDATE and TBIFOS with a friend (we're both writers so we were analyzing the books in that mindset) and he said "I dream that one day I will be able to control the delicate yo yo of audience tension as effectively as david wong." So I would like to ask: how DO you build tension and suspense so well? And do you have any advice on that for aspiring writers?

the moment i started reading JDATE is pretty memorable for me cause it happen after really long and hard trip on acid with my friends, when we sat in front of hospital we lived next to. And at the very beginning of reading that book the question come to my mind, have You ever experienced with any psychedelics, or were the psychedelic topics any inspiration for You?
