What I love about the books/story is that it combines so many different things into one story (time travel (which I confess I have always been interested in), history (author stays true to reality), romance (including a 3 way triangle in the first 3 books), sex (gets pretty erotic at some times), violence (yes the 18th century was violent in Scotland when the Brits were in the process of taking it over), rape and "witchcraft". It is beautifully written. I'm so glad I discovered these and I recommend it highly.(less)
