What was the point (?) of Sam Black Crow? Why did she dream of the buffalo headed person, and the thunderbirds? Why was she given so much significance at the end of the book, when she hadn't really been in the rest of it very much? And how did she get the flowers from Shadow???

That was enough to make me love her and it completely justified her role in the book. Do you really need a deeper reason for her being there? she was simply great. I wish Shadow could've talked more to her, I looked forward to their interactions. (less)
