Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Tim DeRoche I was reading Mark Twain's The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn for the first time in many years, and I was astounded by how modern it is. It's still hilarious, and Huck is just such an incredibly endearing character.

Around the same time, Simone and I went on a kayaking trip on the LA River. And somehow those two ideas came together in my brain. Huck Finn and the LA River. Huck Finn and the LA River!

And then the question...If Huck is on the run in today's world, with whom is he on the run?

I just finished The Ballad of Huck and Miguel. Great job! I loved how it had the same adventure aspect but in modern day times. At the end, Huck kind of leads you to believe that this may be a series.... Do you plan on writing more books with these characters?
