IT and The Shining are my favorites of his but don't overlook Gerald's Game or Needful Things. Hell, MOST of his books I enjoy very much. But IT is truly incredible, and The Shining remains one of the scariest books I've ever read.
Benjamin
Read The Stand or IT. The two very best King novels. 11/22/63 was great too but The Stand and IT are his best...

Got hooked in middle school, re hooked since last Summer
It
The Stand
Dead Zone (felt very relevant as I've just read recently)
11/22/63
Pet Semetary
Misery - so hard to get through, but so good
Christine
Apt Pupil (from Different Seasons)
Mr. Mercedes (read Finders Keepers and End of Watch, not as good though)
Secret Window Secret Garden (from Four Past Midnight)
1922 (from Full Dark No Stars)
Then not taken too seriously but have read:
The Shinning
Carrie
Salem's Lot
The Jaunt for my favorite of all his short stories

Same here! Totally got into Stephen King after reading 11/22/63.
Since then, I've read:
- "Gwendy's Button Box" (4.5/5 - I wish it was longer and bit more in depth though)
- "Sleeping Beauties" (4/5)
- "Under the Dome" (4/5 - didn't really like the ending)
- "Hearts in Atlantis" (2/5 - first story was awesome, the rest were not great)
- "Revival" (3/5)
- "Insomnia" (4/5)
I've heard that "The Stand" is one of his best books (along with 11/22/63). I've bought that one, plus "IT," "Needful Things," "Carrie," "Dark Tower I," and "The Long Walk."
Edit: And "Salem's Lot" :)

I agree with Benjamin and Patrick, read the Stand. Under the dome is another fave of mine and if you like long series stories, the Dark Tower series. I loved IT, Needful Things, Insomnia and Desperation as well, but those aren't as universally well liked, they're not for everyone.
Carlos del Castillo
I would recommend you read The Stand. I think it is his best work.
