I'm not sure if you were being serious, but this would be traumatizing for a 9 year old- reading about a kidnapped 9 year old and then how her rescuer is f*cked with, and (at times) there are graphic descriptions of the main character's torture. Keeping this spoiler-free, but as a YA librarian I might not even recommend this to my kids in 12th grade. (less)
