I'm looking for a new thriller author and I found your Spilling CID serious, which has me very intrigued. Reading some of the descriptions, I don't see what makes the books a series. Is there a connecting character? Any reason I can't read them out of sequence? Thanks!

Sophie Hannah They are definitely a series, with series characters! Having said that, I don't see any reason why they wouldn't work if you read them in a different chronological order. You'd just meet the series characters at a different point in their story - but I don't think it matters, personally!
