Goodreads asked Charles Stross:

If you could travel to any fictional book world, where would you go and what would you do there?

Charles Stross ... Not one of mine!

In general, fictional secondary worlds are designed to be adventure playgrounds — settings for stories — rather than comfortable places to actually live.

The one SF universe that doesn't give me the screaming crawlies at the thought of living there is Iain M. Banks's Culture universe, specifically inside the Culture itself (and not during the Idiran war or a similar conflict!). I'd emigrate there in a split instant if it was (a) real and (b) possible. But most SF realms? Not so much fun to live unless you're the galactic emperor or a similar high status nob.
