Ramona asked Nancy J. Cavanaugh:

I recently finished reading "Just Like Me" and look forward to reading, "Elsie Mae has something to say". I love historical children's lit, Young Adult fantasy, historical themed, and Sci-fi. Do you have any authors that have or do inspire you, that I could add to my "to read list"? Favorites are Anne McCaffrey, Elizabeth Peters, Anna Carey, Sharon Cameron, Jennifer Ryan, Cynthia Voigt, Blue Balliet, & Eoin Colfer!

Nancy J. Cavanaugh I apologize for not answering your question! For some reason I did not get an alert that it was here. Anyway, there are many authors who have inspired me. In fact, the authors who have written the books I most love are what inspired me to become an author - Beverly Cleary, Eleanor Estes (The Hundred Dresses), Katherine Paterson, and Kate DiCamillo. There are many others I love too, but those I've listed, I'm simply in awe of. I love reading historical fiction too! I am always amazed at how much I don't know about history when I read historical fiction. It's such a great way to not only learn about a time period, but also get a "feel" for what it was like to live in that time period.

Thanks for your question, and again, I apologize for such a delayed response.

Happy Reading!
Nancy
