Goodreads asked Evan Minton:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Evan Minton You should either (A) take a writing class, or (B) do a LOT of reading. I did the latter. You'd be surprised at how much reading can improve your writing ability. You subconsciously learn things like how paragraphs should be structured, how headers and footers should appear, the average length of chapters, etc. Reading can make you a better writer. In fact, if you view my blog posts from 2012 (the year I got started) and my blog posts from 2017, you'll see a dramatic difference in my style of writing. I've gotten better over time just from reading. Monkey see, monkey do.
