Hi Taylor, I love the complexity of your plot in all of your stories but particularly in your latest, The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo (I loved every word of this book btw). Did you come up right away with the idea of constructing the story as you did, i.e. having Monique's POV and then having Evelyn tell the story? It works so well. I just finished the book on an airplane today, and I miss your characters!!

Thank you so much! I always knew that Evelyn would tell her story *to* someone. I wanted to view the past through the direct lens of the future.
As I started understanding who Evelyn was, I started to design who Monique would be. The two grew in my mind hand-in-hand.
But it's a narrative style that I really enjoy. Hopefully I get a chance to do more of it.

For Maybe in Another Life, how many cinnamon rolls did you eat; did that influence how many times she was craving them again? I loved the ambiguous-ness of the novel which left us to decide if there was a 'real' story, or just to chose which we prefer. It made an amazing book club pick. We debated which plot line played out better in which world. Was it hard to write one version at times bc you liked the other?
