Hi Gail, You have fabulous style and completely rock it. I've read a few of your blog posts regarding how you choose clothes for yourself and they are fantastic insight and advice. I was wondering when/how long did it take you to find your "style"? I feel like I'm pretty meh in clothing and would love to have a geeky chic style of dress but am not confident in it. Just trying to gather more advice from a style icon!

Awe, aren't you a doll! Thank you. Well I have always been really into clothing, I was a big thrift-store junkie back in the late 80s and early 90s as a poor student. When the swing dance craze hit I got into vintage and rockabilly in a big way and basically never left it (except for steampunk). So I guess you could say my style "settled" in early 2000s. I like the idea of Geeky Chic! My advice would be to start with accessories and work up from there. I'm a huge fan of really interesting jewelry and shoes and bags, because apart from anything else they make great talking points and ice breakers. You can test the waters, see if people respond positively! (They will, I promise.) If you want a fun blog to follow I recommend The Stylish Geek http://www.thestylishgeek.com/

I love that your books take place in a Victorian setting and feature strong women in fabulous, sometimes absurd clothes. Knowing that you love vintage fashion as well as I do, would you ever consider expanding the world your books are set in outside of the Victorian era into Regency or the jazz age or further (I guess that would be considered diesel punk instead of steam punk)?
