I am 31 and absolutely loved this book.

I agree with the below answer. I typically don't really enjoy young adult books anymore, but this book still kept me reading and staying up late to finish just one more chapter. It is a guilty pleasure book if you don't think too much into the plot or characters etc.

It is considered YA, the characters are 17/18 years old and are figuring their lives out, but I don't think older readers are beyond enjoying the book. The plot concerns heists and "jobs", and it deals with politics and economics, and has some mature themes referenced here and there. It is YA, yes, but, respecting it for what it is, older readers can still enjoy it. It is an interesting read, mostly for all that goes beyond the typical YA themes.

It's YA in the sense that the main characters are 16-18 year olds, but the books actually deal with some mature topics like poverty, government corruption, sexual abuse, slavery, drug addiction, racism/prejudice, etc. People often comment that the main characters feel older, and that's because they live in a dark, gritty world that forces kids and teenagers to grow up fast, so I think in many ways adults might actually get more out of the books than teenage readers.
