(view spoiler)[This might be a weird question, but our book club read Kiss of Deception, and one of our discussion questions was "did you notice that this is set in a futuristic U.S.?" All of us were caught off guard by this, but as I read the rest of the trilogy, I could see hints to that. Was this on purpose, that it's not very obvious, or were we just very unobservant? Also, any reasons why you set it there? (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[Yes, it was on purpose that it was not obvious. I wanted the reader to be as unaware of who the Ancients were as the characters in the story, but with subtle clues that added up to their identity. The last clue is in the last book in the last few pages and has to do with a poem in the book Aster took from the caverns. A little googling will give you the title of the poem and author.

Holy Cow. I am almost finished with book one of "The Remnant Chronicles" and OMG.. You moved promptly to one of my best authors. You have such an amazing skill to bring the books to life. I am so invested in the characters, I can not wait to continue with the other books. Will you have a spin off series from this series?
