I feel like I'm the only one who hates chaol? He's been my least favorite character from the start. Loyal beyond being able to think for yourself, prejudice against all those different than himself, mean, stubborn, and the exact kind of person I dislike. And now because of him I have to wait another year for the ending of this series. Wonderful.

I have hated Chaol since "the body on the bed" incident. I didn't want to read anymore about him and was happy he was no longer in the books. I pre-ordered this book and said to myself, "Hey, it's a novella...you can get yourself through this!"

Then Sarah comes out and was like, "JK lolz. Guys, I have forgotten how to write novellas!" Leaving me quietly raging ಠ_ಠ

I have TRIED to read this for a year and half and have been unable to do so. The only way I pushed through was by listening to an audiobook I found of it while doing chores. There was zero chance I was going to finish this by staring at each word, slogging through Chaol's whiny self-hatred.

You know how Sarah connects books together...so my only recommendation is if you've had trouble starting turn the audiobook on and power through. (less)
