Megan asked this question about Tower of Dawn (Throne of Glass, #6):
I feel like I'm the only one who hates chaol? He's been my least favorite character from the start. Loyal beyond being able to think for yourself, prejudice against all those different than himself, mean, stubborn, and the exact kind of person I dislike. And now because of him I have to wait another year for the ending of this series. Wonderful.

And when he learned about aelin/celaena he couldn't accept her. In the words of (actually a great character) Dorian "you don't get to wish that she was someone else, right now you have to decide whether she's you enemy or ally ". I might have mixed up the wording so please tell me if I did and send the correct quote. I haven't read tower of dawn yet but I'm gonna read right now since I just finished empire of storm. Lets hope his character improves.
Edit: His character does improve. I like him as much as the other characters now that he got rid of his salty angst . He finally accepts that magic and change in general isn't bad and although this just a romantic healing process with a political side plot it as an amazing book. Nesryn was my favourite character and is currently drawing lysandra for the place of second favourite ( first favourite is Fleetfoot, obviously ). Her side story made me ship again after becoming salty that doraelin wasn't happening and I was almost squealing in delight when she talked to sartaq at the end. Yrene is a perfect match for Chaol and we finally have a character who isn't that good of a fighter. Spoiler alert (for the rest of the edit ).
The life bond thing seems extremely interesting and I would love to see it be explored further in kingdom of ash, a perfect scenario is where he can severe his bond to save yrene but has to Die therefore ending his character in a noble manner.(less)
