Does this book grab you in the first few pages? Or is it slow burning? Would greatly appreciate some feed back!

B2F certainly grabbed me right from the beginning--it opens on a very grim, absolutely terrible scene *about* to unfold, and Buehlman did an incredible job developing a sense of dread and anxiety. It's very character-focused, so the plot is a bit of a mystery/slow burn kind of deal for both you and the characters. But the character development starts right out of the gate. This is an old question, but it really is an absolutely brilliant fantasy/historical horror and I definitely recommend it if you have no read it yet.(less)
