Willow Actually there is a little known about 9th book called "The Blythes are Quoted" written by Montgomery but published in 2009 after she had died. It takes place after Rilla of Ingleside and is supposedly darker than the rest of the series

Thomas Eight books as such. In addition there are three short story collections. One is the Blythes are Quoted published in 2009 because it was seen as unpatriotic so not published in the 1940s. it contains short stories where the Blythes are mentioned in passing but occasionally appear. interspersed with vignettes involving the Blythes discussing poetry. In addtion Chronicles of Avonlea and Further Chronicles of Avonlea are sometimes included in the Anne canon but they actually consist of stories about other people with occasional references to Anne characters.
