Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Lindsay McKenna I've been writing the Shadow Warriors Series since September, 2013 for HQN and Harlequin Romantic Suspense. I had done five years of reading SEAL books written by SEAL books to get a solid idea of their psychology and mindset. It took those years to cobble a picture of these warriors together so that I wasn't stereotyping them, rather, honoring them as the human beings that they are. As I read probably 30 books over that time frame, there were lots of stories that they shared. Out of that, I started to construct my own SEAL world, not from their experience directly, but creating different scenarios that would work for my new series. I kept notes, files and over time, accrued lots of unique ideas that I wanted to put my black ops men and women through. And now, the books are starting to come out and my readers, from what they are telling me, love the theme, love stories about operators and I'm thrilled!
