Lindsay McKenna I've written it, and it is presently going through the copy edit/edit. I plan on releasing it as part of a new SERIES that I'll put out in Feb 2023....so stand by! Visit my website at www.lindsaymckenna.com or better yet, to be "in the know", sign up for my monthly newsletter...I will have a LOT more about this new series, THE SHADOW WARRIORS, in the November 2022 newsletter: you'll see the tab to sign up for it on the front page of my website!
Lindsay McKenna That title was a "working title" that was decided not to be used on that particular book. However, I've written 185 fiction/romance books, and at age 75, I don't remember WHICH book with the new title, it was. Sorry I can 't be of more help ;-) Happy New Year.
This question contains spoilers... (view spoiler)
Lindsay McKenna Give me the month/year you won it in, and the TITLE of the book, and I'm assuming you received an email from me alerting that you had won it? I don't have you in my address book as winning, so I need help from you to identify it. If someone has won one of my monthly newsletter contests? I always send them an email letting them know they won. If I don't hear from them in 2 weeks, then I assume it might have gone into their "junk" file or there was a server issue with the email and it was lost. Can you produce that email because I do not have it. Let me know? Many thanks.
Lindsay McKenna Hi Lee
The Wind River Valley Series is wrapped up at 9 books. WR Undercover is Book 9.
I am now working on a new romantic suspense/cowboy romance: Silver Creek Series. Silver Creek Fire, book 1, comes out Nov 2020 and Courage Under Fire, Book 2, comes out 2.23.2021! Get ready to read some rompin' stompin cowboys military vets in action!
Lindsay McKenna Hi Sharon. Collateral Damage is on the "bubble" right now because of publishing changes....I'm hoping to get it out in 2020 if al goes well ;-) Thanks for inquiring!
Lindsay McKenna An "empty" envelope? That means the paperback book I sent to you was stolen or ripped open in the mail process. I always send my winners a FIRST CLASS US mail, so something went wrong. I went back in my records and on 4.9.18 I gave you my email address. Can you use it and send me your address once more? Use my email address I gave you and send me your whole name and address and I'll send a second one and we'll cross our fingers you get it this time ;-) thanks. Lindsay
Lindsay McKenna I'm afraid not. It's a secret clearance only, and when I was in the US Navy.
Lindsay McKenna Hi Bill, first of all, thank YOU for your service to our country! I love the Coasties! And right now, I don't have a plot in mind for them, but with all the hurricanes Harvey/Irma, Maria and the CG rescues, I'm thinking hard about it. Stay tuned! ;-) Warmly, Lindsay McKenna
Lindsay McKenna I wish I had time to read for enjoyment, but I don't. My reading would bore most readers because it's non-fiction or I'm Googling information to cross-check what I'm writing. For example, DREAM OF ME, 3B1, novella (pub date 5.23.17) and sequel to BROKEN, Book 4, takes place in the USA and Paris, France. I flew over to Paris and spent a week looking at where I was going to set the book. It's about Alexa Culver, who works for Artemis Security, and is going after a major sex trafficker. I walked the streets, went into some of the most posh hotels that Paris has. I frequently do groundwork by visiting the area. I want the sounds, the smells, the energy and map out my plot with street names, when possible. You can't always get that info out of a non-fiction book. When you read what happens to Alexa when she goes to a Human Rights conference in Paris, France, you will know I was there. It is the small nuances that make the background not only come alive, but believeable. Most of my loyal readers know I do serious groundwork whenever possible. There's nothing like being boots on the ground to absorb an environment for one of my books and characters. I love it!
Lindsay McKenna If I wrote an autobiography on my life, people would accuse me of writing fiction. It is so off-the-wall, that most people wouldn't believe it, thinking that I'd made it up because I am, after all, a fiction writer ;-). That said? My books I write (Delos Series, Wind River Valley Series, and 170 other books on my still growing backlist) come from my own experiences. The old adage "Write what you know," applies directly to me. I was in the US Navy and so I write about the military, is one good example. I was born in rural farm/ranch environment, so I write about that. I believe in writing "close to the bone," as they say because you can add small nuances of the 5 senses because I've actually experienced it myself. And I do love bringing my readers into my stories and that is how you do it. Because of my life, I bring an emotional depth and breadth to my characters because I've already "been there, done that," myself. You can find the 'mystery' of my life in my books ;-)
Lindsay McKenna I loved writing Wind River Rancher, Book 2 of my Wind River Valley series by Kensington Books. It's about Reese Lockhart, an ex-Marine captain who used to manage a company in Afghanistan. Eventually PTSD got to him and he was given a honorable medical discharge. After leaving the Marines, he fell into the dark world of trying to put his life back together again. He's a man of high morals, values and integrity. His fall from being successful to disheveled has taken a toll emotionally on him. But he keeps fighting and that is what makes him such a wonderful, sympathetic character.

Shay Crawford owns the Bar C in Wind River, Wyoming. She too is a military vet, also plagued with PTSD, and is fighting to make her ranch a healing place for vets like herself. Anyone she hires, has PTSD in some form. Her life has never been easy, losing her mother when she was a child. Her father, Ray Crawford, is an alcoholic and abusive. He denigrates women and her, regularly. He has a stroke at 45, which hauls Shay out of her happy place in the Marine Corps, forcing her to come back to the ranch and take care of it. The Bar C under Ray's drunken state, has deteriorated terribly and Shay comes home to her family ranch that is in jeopardy of being lost to the local bank.

These two characters are heroic despite what Life has thrown at them. I always admire people who struggle on, doing the best they can. And while it's not perfect, they still try. I find that one of the most admirable traits a human can have. And that is why Shay and Reese are my favorite fictional couple.
Lindsay McKenna Hi Judie, thanks so much for letting me know! You can join me on my author FB page if you'd like--you'll get the latest, updated info on what I'm writing next or what is coming out next ;-)

Lindsay McKenna Hi Paula
sorry so late in visiting here to answer your questions. It's just me. I don't have an assistant who helps me out, so I apologize. to your question, no I'm no longer a volunteer fire fighter. I did it for 3 years, worked on 400 out of the 600 calls that came in yearly.

I write "close to the bone," which means I usually am writing real life things that either happened to me, or someone I knew or at times, will go to a newspaper or the internet to look up certain things I need for a story. I do have several black ops consultants. One is a retired US Navy SEAL who was on ST6. The other is a British RAF chap who is now an American (he married a lovely American girl...what a love story...) and he worked for the Spooks (CIA). These guys are my go to people on equipment, weapons, and what is reality vs. fiction if I have a particular plot in mind. I like keeping my stories based IN reality and could REALLY happen. I was in the US Navy and held a secret clearance for my work, so I appreciate my consultants and never ask them anything that would let loose a secret that wasn't supposed to be revealed. But yes, my life has been very, very exciting...I've often said to my friends that I feel like I'm living 6 different lifetimes at once, haha. Warmly, Lindsay McKenna
Lindsay McKenna Hi Dixie, unfortunately, no she won't. That is a book I wrote for Harlequin and I'm no longer with them. However, if you're looking for another women in the military? Check out my NEW family military saga-series: Delos. Check it out at www.lindsaymckenna.com. And don't forget to subscribe to my monthly newsletter which will keep you updated on all my releases ;_) Warmly, Lindsay
Lindsay McKenna Dixie, I'm going to publish my ENTIRE 2016 pub schedule on my blog here at Goodreads, so you might want to get a copy of it. There's LOTS of books coming out!

To answer about the novellas to come:
July 25, 2016
SECRET DREAM, Delos Series, Novella, 1B1 (follow-up on Cav-Lia from Nowhere To Hide)

and
September 29, 2016
UNBOUND PURSUIT, Delos Series, Novella, 2B1, (follow-up on Tal and Wyatt from Tangled Pursuit)

are the follow-up novellas to Nowhere to Hide and Tangled Pursuit.

In 2017:
March
 March 1, 2017
NEVER ENOUGH, Novella 3B1, (follow-up on Matt-Dara from Forged in Fire)
and
May 23, 2017
DREAM OF ME, Novella 4C2, (follow-up to Gage and Alexa from Broken Dreams, Book 4)

The wait will be worth it, in my opinion ;-). These are 35,000 words long for each of them, and about 7-9 chapters each.

These novellas will become pre-order as soon as I can get them up after the've gone through the editorial pipeline for iTunes/Apple. For Kindle/Amazon they only allow a pre-order 90 days ahead of the actual publication date. I'll be putting them out on kobo.com as well. Bn.com, unfortunately, doesn't do pre-orders, so you have to wait to buy these the day of the publication date.

Another good thing to do is sign up for my newsletter at www.lindsaymckenna.com (green button on front page--just click on it and fill in the blanks), because it comes out monthly to my subscribers, and you'll know what book or novella from the Delos series is available at that time.

Hope this helps. But if you have other questions, please ask! ;-)
Warmly, Lindsay McKenna
Lindsay McKenna Isabelle, hmmmm, this software was to be open to everyone around the world. So let my IT team get on it so we can find out. Also, please email me at docbones@gotsky.com and give me your email. My IT people may want to work with you directly and we can't do it over Goodreads ;-) So, let me hear from you? We'll make SURE you get 4 free sample chapters from Book 1, 2, 3 and 4 from the Delos series. Warmly, Lindsay McKenna
Lindsay McKenna Isabelle, you can can go to amazon.com in your country of Belgium, and buy a copy. I know in the UK amazon.com, Nowhere to Hide is available. Or if you don't have a Kindle/Amazon, then it is available BN.com, Kobo.com and iTunes/iBooks/Apple. So one of those platforms is where you can go to get a copy. KOBO is especially good to use if you are overseas from the USA. Do stay in touch on this? Let me know if you were able to obtain a copy? Warmly, LIndsay McKenna
Lindsay McKenna Hi Fred! Nice to meet you and thank you for asking me a question. My favorite is the Shadow Warrior series which Harlequin/HQN did not identify. Makes my readers angry. Fortunately, you can go do my website www.lindsaymckenna.com, and up on the tool bar, look for "series" and there they are.

Luckily, Delos Series, which has started to roll out, has a LOGO in the lower right hand corner of all books, identifying it as a series. Even better, a number in the center of it so that the reader knows which book in the series it is.

For example? LAST CHANCE is FREE and has a 0.5A number on it. That means it's the first, since it's a "0" and the .5 means it's a novella or something shorter than a 75,000 word + 'big book' (as I refer to them). The A means it is the first novella involving these particular characters. I have a Delos Series section at my website and you can click on the toolbar to find it. Last Chance is a prequel to NOWHERE TO HIDE (Book 1 of the Delos series and again, you can see that in the lower right hand corner of the front cover of the book/ebook. As an Indie writer I can help my many readers by letting them know exactly where they're at with my series :-).

Hope this helps? Let me know? Happy reading! Warmly, Lindsay McKenna
