Veronica asked J. Leigh Bralick:

Hey! So I was thinking about what books I should read this summer, and I wondered if you had any recommendations of books that are less well known to the general populace? :-)

J. Leigh Bralick Oh, indeed! If you like light-hearted fantasy that slowly gets more serious and intense (over the course of a deliciously long five-book series), then I one million percent recommend the Eli Monpress books by Rachel Aaron. SO MUCH YES. I adore those books and read the whole series at least once a year. Starts out so fluffy and fun, and by the end....*happy sigh* It's just great.

One YA series that I think deserves to be much better known is SJ Kincaid's Insignia series. It's sci-fi with kind of an Ender's Game kind of feel to it, and it's really just fantastic. There are some lines of dialogue in those books that have me splitting a gut. But, at the same time, the books take an interesting look at technology and modern society, and there's some delicious psychology in it (especially the last book, which I finally got a chance to read a few months back) that of course I'm a huge fan of. ;-)

Let's see, what else...if you haven't read "Code Name: Verity," you really should. It's easily one of the best YA books I've ever read.

I'll see if I can think of any others! And I will add a comment in the upcoming weeks because my sister's series is AMAZING but she's preparing to release updated versions...so I'll wait for those to come out before recommending them. :D
