Margaret Goodlin asked this question about Everyone Brave Is Forgiven:
Can anyone recommend other books that are as good? LOVED this book. Have read several by this author, but would like to read more WW II books.

The actor who read "Everyone Brave is Forgiven" was top notch. "The Chilbury Ladies Choir: A Novel" is also set at the start of WWII in a small English near the coast. (It's sort of like "Mrs. Miniver" meets "Atonement.") It is quasi-epistolary and worked well as an audiobook with a cast of talented male and female actors. I also just listened to "Princess Elizabeth's Spy" and I am preparing to listen to the 1st in the 'Maggie Hope' series, "Mr. Churchill's Secretary." These books seem lighter in tone (almost like 'Nancy Drew: All Grown Up and Fighting the Nazis!' ) The reader is excellent and the book kept me entertained on my commute to work. (less)
