When I started reading "Pretend I'm Dead", I right away was drawn to a character/narrator with mental health issues. As a writer myself, I recognized the "unreliable narrator" that they teach you about in English classes. But as I read the book (which I loved!) I realized that Mona really wasn't unreliable. She was narrating her world as she experienced it. Was the narrator unreliable?

I feel like she's not unreliable because of her mental health issues as much as she's unreliable because she's human, therefore she sees things a certain way because of her personality/experiences/etc..(less)
