When I started reading "Pretend I'm Dead", I right away was drawn to a character/narrator with mental health issues. As a writer myself, I recognized the "unreliable narrator" that they teach you about in English classes. But as I read the book (which I loved!) I realized that Mona really wasn't unreliable. She was narrating her world as she experienced it. Was the narrator unreliable?

She seems to have insight into her subjectivity, so I would not say any more unreliable than a typical close third.

Hi. I don't think she's unreliable. It's written in a third-person limited POV, so I think the narrator is still somewhat separate from Mona.
Also, this book was really racist. I just wanted to add that.

To me, anyone narrating the world from their perspective is at least somewhat unreliable, because people can't be truly objective. I feel like she's not unreliable because of her mental health issues as much as she's unreliable because she's human, therefore she sees things a certain way because of her personality/experiences/etc..
