Goodreads asked M.A. Jewell:

How do you get inspired to write?

M.A. Jewell Just about any emotion provoking stimulus will spark something. A commercial, or newspaper article. As a nurse, I run into drama regularly at work, and occasionally will flip that into something. Though I have plenty of healthcare related material, I have no desire to write about the medical field.

When I wrote Jungle Rapture, the process began in a methodical fashion. What animal, what setting, etc. However, when I researched my bad guy --poachers-- my blood started to boil. Suddenly, the heroine, Kelsi, had a passion, a goal in life and a mission to accomplish.

The bottom line is, inspiration can come from anywhere.
