What inspired you to write a fantasy-style series without magic or Godly gifts & abilities?

Tricia Mingerink Honestly, I didn't think about it too much. I'm a plot-first writer, so I had the idea for the over-arching plot right away. Since I knew the plot, I knew the plot didn't demand any magic or special abilities. They just wouldn't fit. Perhaps I could have then written it as historical, but the plot didn't fit any time-frame or country in our real world. I have seen a few others write non-magical fantasy similar to Acktar, so that's what I did.
